What is the best way for me to purchase PRINT books?
Stillness Press is currently distributing most* of its print books in two ways:
US warehouse distributor, Lakeside Book Company;
Print-on-demand (POD), available through various online booksellers.
Buyers can purchase books from any source they wish.
For international buyers, POD is the recommended approach because it allows books to be available to a global audience with marked savings on shipping costs as the books can be printed in multiple places around the globe.
For US buyers, the books (mostly in hardcover) can be obtained more quickly from the Lakeside warehouse distributor at lower cost.
Which Print-On-Demand (POD) Online Booksellers sell PRINT books?
The books are available through many online bookstores, including Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and many regional booksellers globally. Note: bookshop.org sells in the US and supports indie bookstores. Stillness Press receives a small commission if you buy from them. An internet search using the title of the book you are interested in should show many options appropriate to the country you reside in.
*Which PRINT books are only available from the US warehouse distributor?
Stillness Press only sells Treating Visceral Dysfunction and Anatomy of Potency through its Lakeside Book Company distributor. Links to Lakeside are available on this site’s book webpage. Also, these titles are not available as eBooks. These two books are currently also sold by: Pacific Distributing—Books and Bones.
How to purchase eBooks?
Stillness Press eBooks are available from many online eBook sellers globally. Sellers include: Smashwords, Kobo, Barnes and Noble, and some other regional sellers. Globally: Smashwords and Kobo seem to have the widest global reach. Note: Smashwords offers the most generous royalties to authors.
Are all the Stillness Press titles available in all formats?
E-Books: All titles are available as eBooks except Treating Visceral Dysfunction and Anatomy of Potency.
Hardcover & Softcover: Availability will vary from site to site. In general, most of the books in the distribution warehouse are hardcover, and some online retailers may only sell softcover books.
Can I purchase Stillness Press PRINT books from other booksellers?
Yes. Some of the Stillness Press books are available from the Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation, Osteopathy’s Promise to Children, and Pacific Distributing—Books and Bones.
What if a book arrives damaged?
Contact the business that the book was purchased and received from. Sometimes they will ask for the book to be returned, although sometimes a photo of the damaged packaging and book is all that is needed. You should receive a refund or replacement for a damaged book from the seller.
Are Stillness Press books available in other languages?
Yes. Many of the Stillness Press titles are available in French, German, and Italian. These include Life in Motion, The Stillness of Life, and Interface, and they are available from booksellers in those countries. Translation for Life in Motion into Brazilian Portuguese is underway.
Why can’t I order an eBook through Amazon?
Amazon’s eBook payment structure is geared toward the mass market. Specialized books with a higher price are paid at a drastically reduced royalty to the publisher. Therefore, Stillness Press has chosen not to distribute through them.
